It was the last day of school before winter break. I sighed smoothing my skirt.Two weeks off of school. Also means no Derek, or Simon, or Rae, or Liz. Happily no Tori. Tori is a meanie. I looked at the clock. Slow down clock! I wish you were like Cogsworth from Beauty and the Beast! I thought. THat made me laugh. I was also sad that Mrs.Jordyn said we might have different seating when we came back, I huffed. We had an extra ten minutes so we went outside. I sat on the ground and talked to Derek. I smiled because I was going to give him a christmas present. "Derek I have something to give you," I said to him.
"Me too," he muttered. I handed him his present. A book mark that said DEREK in green letters. He handed me a Necklace. I gasped. I held onto it. It had a little purple bead in the middle.
"Thank you, Derek," I said after I had pulled it over my head. I hugged him.
"Thank you for your present,too, Chloe," He said to me. Mommy came and picked me up. I left waving to Derek from my car window.
